    T. S. Eliot. Murder in the Cathedral. Canterbury: H. J. Goulden, Limited, 1935. First acting edition, and the true first edition, preceding the first trade edition by over a month, one of only 750 copies printed. This copy is signed by Eliot on the title-page. Octavo. [iv], 38, [2, blank] pages. Publisher's original printed wrappers. A new spine has been skillfully added and the wrappers have been re-attached. Some rubbing and soiling to wrappers, rear wrapper has a dampstain near the bottom, and there is a small dampstain at the very bottom inner margin of the text throughout. Overall, a very good copy of this rare item. Housed in half black morocco clamshell case. This edition was only available for sale at the first performances of this play, which took place at Canterbury Cathedral in May of 1935. Gallup A29a.
