Inscribed by Lewis on the front free endpaper: "To Mr. + Mrs./Lothar Faber with/the respects of/Sinclair Lewis". Housed in an envelope affixed to the rear free endpaper is an autograph letter signed by Lewis, thanking Faber for his letter about Babbitt. Octavo. [viii], 401, [1, blank], [6, ads] pages. Publisher's full blue cloth, front board and spine stamped in orange. Publisher's dust jacket, with price neatly clipped (as usual for this title). Cloth spine toned; binding worn and soiled; endleaves toned; text toned; recipient's bookplate on front pastedown; later owner's bookplate on half-title (obscuring title); a few gutters overopened. Jacket spine toned; jacket worn, soiled and chipped. Overall, a good copy with a letter by Lewis. From the James C. Seacrest Collection.
