    Richard Wright. Native Son. New York: Harper, 1940. First edition, in a second issue dust jacket, signed by Wright ("Sincerely / Richard Wright / 9/6/40") on the front free endpaper. Octavo. 359 pages. Publisher's first binding of dark blue cloth, front board and spine stamped in white and red, in a second issue dust jacket with excerpts from reviews printed on the front and spine panels. Jacket spine sunned (though not as much as usually seen), some edgewear and some chipping to jacket, cloth spine a bit dull, some rubbing to red and white stamping and boards, spine rubbed, front hinge repaired. Overall, very good. From the collection of Donald Kaufmann.
