    Ralph Ellison. Invisible Man. New York: Random House, [1952]. First edition, signed by the author on the front free endpaper. Octavo (8.25 x 5.5 inches; 209 x 140 mm.). [viii], 439, [1, blank] pages. Publisher's two-color cloth binding; black cloth, spine lettered in white, with upper portion in yellowish white cloth decoratively stamped in gray; top edge stained black; in original dust jacket. Backstrip dulled; spine lettering worn; corners very slightly bent; extremities lightly worn. Topstain with a few small splashes; fore-edge of text block and endpapers lightly foxed; front endpapers faintly discolored; slightly over-opened between pages 154 and 155. Dust jacket edges worn, with a few minor nicks, and creased; folds creased; horizontal crease across spine panel and diagonal crease across front panel; small, faint splash to upper corners of both flaps; verso faintly toned along upper edge; light wrinkling throughout. A very good copy in an about very good dust jacket; housed in a custom case. From the Collection of Daniel J. King.
