    Description

Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings. Typed Letter, Signed. Hawthorne, Florida, May 21, 1938. Discussing movie rights with MGM.

More Information: Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings. Typed Letter, Signed. Hawthorne, Florida, May 21, 1938. TLS, one octavo page, to "Dear Miss Thompson." The letter (in 15 typed lines) states, in part: "I tried my best to get to your shop while I was in New York-- only a few days-- but it was no go... Of course I remember you. I'm so glad you liked "The Yearling." I didn't expect it to be liked by more than a few. It still surprises me to see it creep up the best-seller list. I imagined people are tired of modern neuroses. Metro Goldwyn Mayer has just bought the movie rights. I hope they will do the Florida setting properly... With all good wishes, [signed] Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings."  The letter is folded twice (for mailing), 1 1/2-inch tear in (blank) upper margin at tip of one corner, with early tape mend on verso and a neat archival mend, else very good; interesting literary content.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
