Presentation Copy of Slaughterhouse-Five, Inscribed by Vonnegut to the Owner of Lord John Press, Herb Yellin

Kurt Vonnegut. Slaughterhouse-Five or the Children's Crusade. A Duty-Dance with Death. [New York:] Seymour Lawrence/Delacorte Press, [1969]. First edition. Presentation copy, warmly inscribed by Vonnegut on the first blank: "Peace and plenty/to my pal/Herb Yellin-/Kurt Vonnegut/April, 1976". Around this inscription, Vonnegut has drawn ten stars. Octavo. [xiv], [187], [7, blank] pages. Publisher's full turquoise cloth, front board stamped in gilt, spine stamped in gilt, red, and black, dust jacket. Jacket toned (especially at spine), some rubbing to jacket, two small stains to front jacket panel near spine, some rubbing and marginal sunning to binding, one of the stars on the inscription is a bit smudged (not affecting the rest of the inscription). Overall, a very good example of a fantastic association copy.
Herb Yellin (1935-2014) was the founder and publisher of the Lord John Press, one of the best American fine presses of the latter half of the twentieth century and beyond. Vonnegut occasionally contributed material to Lord John.
