    Description

Beautiful Copy of Kesey's First Book, Inscribed

Ken Kesey. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. New York: The Viking Press, 1962.

First edition, first printing. Boldly inscribed by Kesey: "For / Darrel / Kesey / 1993." Octavo. 311 pages. Jacket design by Paul Bacon.

Publisher's green cloth with yellow titles. A crisp copy internally and externally, with a small spot to front board. Neat ownership name to front free endpaper. Bright dust jacket with minimal rubbing and edge wear. Near fine.

Kesey's amazing first book and a cornerstone of Sixties literature which helped in large measure to shape a generation's attitude toward authority and power. This is the true first edition retaining all of the original text portions which were subsequently cut as a result of a lawsuit against Kesey and his publisher. This title is notorious for condition problems, but this copy is very well-preserved, with only very minor wear.
