Karl Marx. Das Kapital. Kritik der politschen Oekonomie. Hamburg: Otto Meissner, 1872. Second edition of the first volume (the only volume completed by Marx in his lifetime), revised and augmented by the author. Octavo (8.875 x 5.75 inches; 225 x 145 mm.). [ii], 822, [823]-828 (contents), [829]-830 (errata) pages. Later dark red morocco, spine lettered in gilt and ruled in blind, four raised bands; page edges untrimmed; plain endpapers; original front wrapper bound in (dated 1873). Boards gently bowed; board edges, joints, spine ends and raised bands all lightly worn. Endpapers lightly discolored; fore edges of pastedowns rippling slightly. Original wrapper edges worn, with a sizeable triangular chip to the upper edge, extending just beyond the decorative border; bottom corner lacking. Page edges lightly worn; faint tidemark to lower margin of title-leaf and roughly the first 400 leaves (though pretty negligible after the first fifty); occasional light foxing throughout, some dust soiling to terminal leaves. Very good. Printing and the Mind of Man, 359 (first edition). From the Marilyn R. Duff Collection.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
