Signed and inscribed by Heller on the front free endpaper, "To Michelle, / with good wishes. / Joseph Heller". Octavo. 443 pages. Publisher's blue cloth with white spine titles. Top page edges stained red. Original pictorial dust jacket. Mild shelfwear to cloth with uneven discoloration, particularly to rear board, possibly from dampness. Spine somewhat darkened. Staining along fore-edge margin of textblock, about one-quarter-inch deep through most leaves, but growing to an inch through final leaves. A little light offsetting and foxing to endpapers. Slightly trimmed dust jacket with $5.95 price and some sunning along spine. Abrading to verso of inner flaps where they were previously mounted. Possibly married jacket. An overall very good copy.
