Original printed wrappers, stringbound in the scarce original numbered plain cream mailing envelope. Housed in custom black cloth folding case. Laid in is a cream card signed by the author, a 'first day of issue' printed envelope and stamp commemorating Steinbeck dated Feb. 27, 1979, Salinas, CA; and a bookseller's promotional card.     "This letter is here printed by the Ward Ritchie Press, Los Angeles, California, in an edition of sixty copies, ten for the use of the author and fifty for presentation by Marguerite and Louis Henry Cohn." The Cohns were the proprietors of House of Books in New York, one of the pioneer dealers in modern first editions.
