    More Information: John Steinbeck. Of Mice and Men. New York: Covici Freide, 1937. First edition. Octavo. 186, [6] pages. Original tan cloth stamped in orange and black on front and spine. Original illustrated dust jacket, printed in black. Edges trimmed, top edge unstained. Mild edge wear to binding; minimal toning to top edge of spine and boards; small brown splash to front. Top of text block faintly dust soiled and has slight bluish tint -- top edge likely previously stained. Spine panel of dust jacket browned; further, more mild toning to front and back panels, edges of flaps; some wear at edges, folds; small chips at head and foot of spine panel, bottom front corner; top and bottom corners of both flaps clipped. Reverse of dust jacket toned; darkest at spine panel, fades toward flaps. Very good. With first edition, first issue points: extra nine words on p. 9; bullet between 8's on p. 88.
