Mild rubbing, soiling to binding, some foxing to endleaves, bookplate on front pastedown. Near fine. Chemised in slipcase.

    [Together with:] A. Conan Doyle. The Valley of Fear. New York: George H. Doran, [1914]. First edition, preceding the British edition. Octavo. 320 pages. With seven illustrations inserted throughout. This Doran edition is bound in the full red cloth binding of the A. L. Burt reprint, front board and spine lettered in white. Cloth spine sunned, binding somewhat rubbed and soiled, a few gutters starting. Good. Chemised in slipcase.

    [And:] Carl Van Vechten. Spider Boy. New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1928. First edition, one of 220 copies signed by the author, this being copy number 146. Octavo. 297. Publisher's peach cloth backstrip over blue boards, front board stamped in gilt, spine stamped in blue and gilt. Spine sunned and rubbed. Very good. In slipcase.

    [And:] John O'Hara. Appointment in Samarra. New York: Harcourt, Brace, [1934]. First edition of the author's first book. Octavo. 301 pages. Publisher's full black cloth, spine stamped in gilt. Lacks the dust jacket. Spine dull, some rubbing, soiling to binding. Faint ink markings on front endleaves, rear hinge starting. Good. Chemised in slipcase (sunned and soiled).
