    James Joyce. Storiella as She is Syung. [A section of "Work in Progress" by James Joyce]. [London: Corvinus Press, 1937]. First edition. One of 150 numbered copies (this copy being number 131, unsigned), out of a total edition of 176 copies. Large quarto. [56] pages. (pages [1-2] blank and glued to front cover and [55-56] blank and glued to back cover). Printed in Centaur type on Arnold handmade paper. With marginal commentary printed in red at the right of the page and in black at the left. Illuminated opening initial on page [17]. Original orange limp vellum lettered in gilt on front cover and spine. Back cover stamped in gilt with publisher's emblem (a bird on a branch holding a worm in its beak). Top edge gilt, others uncut. Scattered black flecking to paper as is usual with this book. A fine copy. With the fragile original plain thin board slipcase (some wear and chipping to slipcase). Housed in later chemise and slipcase.
    "This book comprises the opening and closing pages of Part II: Section II: of 'Work in Progress.' The illuminated capital letter at the beginning is the work of Lucia Joyce the author's daughter" (statement on text and decoration on p. [45]).
