S. limited issue, limited to 425 total copies (including the English issue), of which this is number 170, and signed by the author. Large octavo (10 x 6.25 inches; 255 x 160 mm.). [2, blank], [vi], 628 pages. Publisher's smooth red buckram, spine ruled and lettered in gilt; top edge gilt, others untrimmed; in original yellow cloth slipcase. Spine ends just barely pushed; edges with just a touch of wear at extremities of joints and corners; bottom corners barely tapped. Gotham Book Mart famously championed James Joyce and his works, and it was the regular meeting place for both The James Joyce Society of New York and The Finnegans Wake Society of New York.
