    More Information:

Jack London. Lost Face. New York: Macmillan, 1910. Second printing. Signed by London, and inscribed by his stepsister, Eliza. With two photos of London tipped-in.

Signed by Jack London on the front free endpaper. Beneath it, it is inscribed by Eliza London Shepard (possibly to a ranch hand): "Dec. 25-1918/Dear Harold,/Just to remind you/of the summer of evil on/the ranch with the Farmerette/Best love/Grandma Shepard". With two photographs of London tipped-onto the front endpapers. Octavo. [viii], 240, [4, ads], [6, blank] pages. With frontispiece and five plates inserted throughout. Publisher's binding. Binding somewhat rubbed, some foxing to edges of text block. Slightly skewed. Very good. Beginning in 1910, Eliza was the superintendent of London's ranch (Beauty Ranch), and faithfully and capably supervised it until her death in 1936 (even after London died, his widow, Charmain, kept her on due to her excellent work).
