    Description

    J. D. Salinger. The Catcher in the Rye. Boston: Little, Brown and Company, 1951. First edition. Octavo. [2, blank], [vi], 277, [3, blank] pages. Publisher's black cloth, spine stamped in gilt. In the original first-issue dust jacket, with the extreme top of Salinger's head cropped, and the $3.00 price intact on the front flap. Jacket has been extensively restored, jacket toned (especially at spine), some thumbsoiling and rubbing to jacket. Gilt on cloth spine is virtually perished, binding somewhat worn and soiled, endleaves offset, previous owner's signature on front free endpaper. Slightly skewed. Still, a good copy restored for a nicer overall appearance.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
