Signed by the author on a preliminary leaf. Fine. [and:] Beschreibung einer Landschaft. Ein Stuck Tagebuch. Bern: Stampfli & Cie, 1947. First edition. Inscribed and signed by Hesse on the front free endpaper. Small octavo. 28 pages. Original green printed wrappers and glassine cover (somewhat worn). Near fine. [and:] Autograph Note Signed, "H Hesse", one page, 5.75 x 8.25 inches, on a leaf of glossy white paper showing a printed reproduction of a painting by Hesse, in German. The signed note is an apology to an old friend for sending late birthday greetings, adding that "one becomes old and weak." Fine condition.
