    H. G. Wells. Group of Four First U. S. Edition Books in Dust Jackets. Published in New York by Macmillan and Co. Four octavo volumes. Uniformly bound in publisher's red cloth, spines and front boards lettered in gilt, in near-matching jackets, each ruled and printed in black with price printed on spine and blurb on front panel. Includes: What Is Coming. A European Forecast. 1916. [vi], 294, [9, advertisements], [3, blank] pages. Covers lightly rubbed, spine ends faintly faded, extremities rubbed. Jacket rubbed with some minor soiling, spine panel darkened, spine ends and front panel chipped, edges worn with some small closed tears. A good jacket on a much nicer very good copy. [and:] God. The Invisible King. 1917. [xx], 174, [9, advertisements], [7, blank] pages, with inconsistencies [ix in the place of [vii]], likely as issued with contents following the preface. Spine ends worn, light foxing, previous owner signature. Jacket rubbed and soiled with some scant foxing, tidemark to front panel, spine toned, edges lightly worn. Very good. [and:] Italy, France and Britain at War. 1917. [vi], 285, [1, blank], [9, advertisements], [3, blank] pages. Extremities lightly rubbed, top edge lightly dust-soiled. Jacket edges darkened with some wear, panels rubbed, minimal biopredation to spine panel. Very good overall. [and:] In the Fourth Year. 1918. [xii], 154, [8, advertisements], [2, blank] pages. Covers rubbed, spine sun-toned, top edge dust-soiled, extremities worn. Jacket defective with front flap and front panel detached, spine panel darkened, edges chipped. A good copy overall.
