Gray paper wrappers with paper title label and "John Farquharson Ltd" ink stamp on front cover.  Wrappers very lightly soiled and creased, title label with small paper lifts along edges not affecting title; holograph ink number "10" on upper right corner of front free endpaper, "Please return to: Douglas Rae CMA LTD." sticker on lower right corner of preliminary page, occasional minor foxing or soiling; dust jacket with creases along edges and folds; else in very good condition.

    First of the Flashman novels, of which twelve were written. Based upon the cowardly bully of Tom Brown's Schooldays, Fraser resurrected the character Harry Flashman writing what had happened to the man after he had been expelled from Rugby school for drunkenness. This English comic novel is an international classic. Fraser wrote the first novel in 90 hours with no advance plottings or revisions.
