    Description

First Edition, First Printing of A Farewell to Arms in the First Issue Dust Jacket

Ernest Hemingway. A Farewell To Arms. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1929. First trade edition, first printing, without the legal disclaimer on page [x]. Octavo. [x], 355 pages. Publisher's smooth black cloth with printed gold paper labels. In the first issue dust jacket, with the "Katharine Barclay" misspelling on the front flap. Some rubbing and toning to jacket, some soiling to rear jacket panel, jacket spine a bit darkened, one small tape repair to verso, one small circular area of sunning on the front board of the book. Overall, a fine copy in an unrestored example of the first issue dust jacket, better than typically offered. Hanneman 8A.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
