    Ernest Hemingway. A Farewell to Arms. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1929. First edition, limited to 510 copies, of which this is number ninety-nine, and signed by Hemingway. Octavo. [x], 355, [1] pages. Original half-vellum over light blue paper boards, leather spine label with titles in gilt, in original glassine and patterned paper slipcase with red label at front, hand-numbered. Text unopened. Spine ends slightly worn. The mildest touches of toning to pages at edges; previous owner's signature at front free endpaper. Glassine edges worn, much less than usually seen, and split at rear panel. Slipcase lightly rubbed with some edgewear and small notation in pencil. An exceptionally attractive, near fine copy, housed in black cloth clamshell. The only signed-limited edition of Hemingway's major works. Hanneman, A8b.
