    First edition. Limited to eight hundred and ten copies on Binda hand-made paper, this copy is hand numbered "673". "Lungarno Series No. 4" [together with:] D.H. Lawrence. The Apocalypse. Florence: G. Orioli, 1931. First edition. Limited to seven hundred and fifty copies on Binda paper, this copy is hand numbered "243". Frontispiece portrait of author with signature in facsimile. "Lungarno Series No. 4". Unopened pages.

    The Virgin and the Gipsy in cream colored boards and The Apocalypse in red, both feature Lawrence's phoenix device on their front covers and title labels on their spines. Both in original dust jackets. Bindings lightly rubbed and soiled, some color fade, corner bumps, small paper tear in The Apocalypse at head of spine; The Apocalypse with off-set on endpapers from dust jacket, small holograph pencil numbers on front endpapers of The Virgin and the Gipsy, pages lightly toned, few minor smudges or stains. Both dust jackets with tears, toning, rubbing, and dampstains; Virgin and the Gipsy with small chips and minor paper loss; The Apocalypse with creases and a three inch tear in its rear panel, paper loss and smaller tears to head with archival tape on the verso, small holograph pencil note on its front flap. Very good books in worn dust jackets.
