    First edition. Limited to one thousand signed and hand numbered copies, of which this copy is numbered 356 and signed by the author on the limitation page. 365 pages, several unopened. Bookplate on front pastedown: "From the Library of Domer V. Dougherty/ D.H. Lawrence Collection" with an ink stamped "No. 1". Brown paper boards with Lawrence's phoenix device in black on the front cover and white paper label on spine with title printed in black, enclosed in a single rule. Housed in a plain cardboard box. Boards lightly soiled, lightly rubbed at corners and spine ends, minor crack and chip at head of spine; small holograph pencil notes on last page and rear pastedown, small stains on endpapers, pages lightly toned, few minor smudges. Very good condition.
