[Featured Lot]. [Books into Film]. Georges de la Fouchardière. INSCRIBED. La Chienne. Paris: Albin Michel, Éditeur, [1930]. First edition, with "Edition Originale" printed on spine, and inscribed by the author on the front endpaper. Source material for Jean Renoir's La chienne and Fritz Lang's noir remake, Scarlet Street. Text in French. Small octavo. Publisher's perfect binding in original wrappers, edges untrimmed. Spine very slightly skewed also somewhat darkened with four vertical creases, a small chip at heel and a small splash at upper margin, occasional light edgewear. Very good.
