Octavo (7.125 x 4.875 inches; 181 x 125 mm.). [x], 224, [4]. Publisher's red cloth; spine lettered in gilt, boards triple ruled in gilt with medallions to both boards depicting characters from the text; all edges gilt. Binding lightly soiled; spine gently leaning; cloth split at the rear joint, with some fraying, but the joint is still holding secure; front joint starting; bottom edges rubbed; corners and spine ends worn with some loss of cloth. Front hinge just about cracked with front free endpaper nearly detached; two minor bruises with some discoloration to the front pastedown; minor, faint marginal staining to the frontispiece; early gift inscription; bookseller's ticket; bookplate. Still, about very good. Housed in a custom clamshell case. From the Collection of Daniel J. King.
