    Uniformly bound in Bayntun (Riviere) binding, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland with with original cloth covers bound at rear; full levant red morocco single ruled in gilt with gilt illustration to upper board, spine decorated in gilt with five raised bands, decorative gilt roll to edges. Minor wear. Gilt-stamped turn-ins, marbled endpapers, binder's stamp in gilt to front turn-in. Internally generally clean, all edges gilt; minor intermittent soiling, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland with some wear and soiling or original cloth covers and half-title tipped in with light ink gift inscription dated 1866, predating the publication date. Housed together in custom red cloth slipcase, lined in ivory cloth with ivory pull ribbon; somewhat rubbed, pull ribbon fraying at the end. Near fine.
