DescriptionLarry McMurtry. The Last Picture Show. New York: 1966. First edition, signed by Peter Bogdanovich.
Larry McMurtry. The Last Picture Show. New York: Dial Press, 1966. First edition. Signed by director Peter Bogdanovich on the front free endpaper. Octavo. , [1, blank] pages. Publisher's full light brown cloth, spine lettered in red. Original dust jacket. Cloth spine barely toned; tailcap bumped; minor rubbing to binding. Top edge of text mildly soiled. Dust jacket spine very slightly sunned; light rubbing and thumbsoiling to jacket; two small areas of residue (tape?) on the front flap. Overall, a near fine copy with an interesting association with the film's director. The film (1971) was a critical and box office hit, earning eight Academy Award nominations, including one for Best Director (remarkable, considering it was Bogdanovich's second film).

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.View More Testimonials
