Quarto (8.3125 x 6.375 inches; 212 x 161 mm.). 259, [260-261], [1, blank], [1, colophon], [1, blank] pages (note: first and last leaves serving as pastedowns); illustrated title-page and twenty-three additional full-color plates inserted throughout, verso of title-leaf blank, plates opposite pages 34 and 92 both in their respective first states with two dots on the moon and red shading on the horizon intact; numerous full-page and in-text illustrations, all by W. W. Denslow. Publisher's light green cloth, blocked in green, decoratively stamped in red and lettered in green and red; binding variant B with the publisher printed in red, plain, unserifed type at the foot of the spine. Professionally recased with the original spine laid down. Backstrip dulled; covers soiled with an occasional small splash; original spine ends worn and slightly frayed; edges and corners lightly worn. Page edges lightly scuffed and a little soiled; hinges reinforced; some plates with marginal wear, worst on plate opposite page 170 the verso of which is silked at the edges.     More Information: Printing points: the advertisements on page [2] are enclosed in a box; page 14, line 1 starts "low wail on.;" "peices" for "pieces" on page 81, line 4-up; page [227], line 1 starts "While Tin Woodman;" the colophon is in 11 lines and enclosed in a box; the front pastedown is in black and gray, and the rear pastedown black and red. Perfect type on the last lines of pages 100 and 186.
