Kenneth Grahame. The Wind in the Willows. London: Methuen and Co., [1908]. First edition. Octavo (7.4375 x 4.875 inches; 189 x 124 mm.). [2, blank], [vi], 302, [1, blank], [1, printer's imprint] pages; frontispiece with original tissue guard. Publisher's blue cloth, spine and front board lettered and stamped in gilt, front board ruled in gilt; top edge gilt, others untrimmed. Spine very slightly askew; spine gilt just a trifle rubbed; spine ends with some very minor wear causing some fraying; front board with a few small splashes and a slightly larger dampstain at the top edge, removing roughly one inch of the gilt ruling; corners very lightly worn. Top edge of text block lightly dust-soiled; endpapers with some discoloration, presumably offset from binder's glue; previous owner initials on the front free endpaper; front hinge over-opened between the preliminary pages and page [1] of the text; rear hinge apparently strengthened by adhering the final leaf to the rear free endpaper in the inner-margin; scant marginal foxing throughout. Very good. From the James C. Seacrest Collection.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
