First Edition, First State of Kesey's
    Classic First Novel

Ken Kesey. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. New York: The Viking Press, [1962]. First edition, first state with the required text about the Red Cross on pages 9 and 86, in first state dust jacket with correct price ($4.95) and Kerouac blurb on front flap. Octavo. [viii], 311, [1 blank] pages. Publisher's green cloth with title in yellow on spine. Five inch dampstain with additional spots on front board, small holograph pencil book dealer's notes on upper right corner of front free endpaper and rear pastedown, small pencil check mark and text correction on page 64 (striking out a "t"), light corner bends on pages 29 to 58; dust jacket creased and lightly soiled, small tears, and paper loss at head of spine, not affecting title; nonetheless a very good copy.
