New York: The Humboldt Publishing Co., [1886]. First edition in English. Octavo. xviii, 506, [10, publisher's ads] pages. Publisher's full deep red cloth with blindstamped borders and device to covers. Gilt spine titles. Covers with some wear, light staining, and abraded corners. Spine slightly faded. Small closed tears to spine tail with same and minor loss to head. Both hinges have amateur tape and glue reinforcement, but remain intact. Pages uniformly toned with a closed marginal tear at the fore-edge on pages 28-29. Otherwise, a very good copy of the scarce first English edition.
