Author's earliest novel. Boldly signed by the author "Joseph Conrad" and inscribed "My very first attempt at / writing, as related as / A personal record. / J.C." Octavo. Publisher's original green cloth lettered in gilt on the spine. Top edge gilt; the textblock untrimmed. Small ex-libris of Christian Heuer mounted to the front pastedown as well as a smaller oval plate; "With the publisher's compliments" perforated stamp on the upper right of the title page affecting the "olly" in "Folly". Otherwise a beautiful copy sold in a custom clamshell case.
