[iii-vi], [7]-173, [1, blank] pages (note: lacking first leaf), ten full-page illustrations (eight being portraits). Library binding of bluish-green cloth, illustrated paper label (part of front wrapper) affixed to front board. Ex-library. Front board lightly soiled with a few faint marginal stains; spine label removed with some faint discoloration to lower portion of backstrip; spine ends and corners worn. Slightly shaken; front hinge cracked and reinforced with endpaper glued to title-page at gutter; occasional over-opening; card pocket removed from rear pastedown resulting in large, but clean, bruise. A very good ex-library copy. Contemporary owner signature of Rodolph Hatfield, likely the Wichita lawyer who served in the Kansas House and made a bid for the House speaker position, according to the December 29, 1889, Wichita Eagle.
