Small bookseller's pencil note on front free endpaper. This copy includes the "Merry Christmas" slip, originally issued with this title, announcing the upcoming publication of Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men the following February. Very good. Goldstone & Payne A6a. From the collection of California bibliophile Melba Berry Bennett.

    More Information:

This is one of Steinbeck's most peculiar stories, a farcical history of the religious conversion and eventual canonization of a fourteenth-century French pig. He had a strong personal attraction to the story and, after years of trying to get it published, he arranged with Covici-Friede to issue it as this gift book.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
