    John Quincy Adams Signed Presentation Copy of Eulogy, on the Life and Character of James Monroe. Boston: J.H. Eastburn, City Printer, 1831. 8vo, 100 pages. Inscribed to "Isaac H. Adams/From his uncle J.Q. Adams." Green cloth overboard slipcase with integral chemise. Gilt stamped spine reads: "J.Q. Adams's Eulogy on JAS. Monroe /Pres. Copy to Isaac M. Adams /1831". Printed wraps. Uneven paper edges. Spine covering in detaching from foot. Damp staining on upper-left front corner throughout. Light to moderate foxing throughout. John Quincy Adams served as James Monroe's only Secretary of State from 1817-1825, and then succeeded him as the sixth President of the United States (1825-1829).
