Seven large octavo volumes (10.5 x 6.5 inches; 267 x 162 mm.). Various paginations. Five hundred hand-finished color lithographed plates by J.T. Bowen after Audubon inserted throughout, woodcuts in the text. Publisher's brown morocco over beveled boards, elaborately tooled in brown on covers and spine, gilt lettering on spine, blind board edges and turn-ins, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. Bindings worn, three volumes with one loose board, several hinges starting, previous owner's signature on front free endpapers, some marginal foxing or thumbsoiling on text; most plates clean. Good.
