    More Information:

This book comes from the collection of noted Americana and sports collector Raleigh DeGeer Amyx. As he states in a signed accompanying provenance letter: "This quality book was obtained by me in 1982 from an old friend, Evelyn Lincoln, secretary for 12 years to John F. Kennedy. I saw Mrs. Lincoln on a number of occasions. We took each other to lunch and I recall her husband, "Abe" Lincoln and her presenting me with box seat tickets for an Orioles (Baltimore) baseball game in the summer of 1982. As I recall, this was Cal Ripken's rookie year. At any rate, I vividly remember him playing shortstop on that special day courtesy of the Secretary to the President. On another occasion she took me to Arlington Cemetery to visit the gravesite of President John F. Kennedy. I first met JFK in 1958. Also, Mrs. Lincoln and I regularly exchanged Christmas cards with personal notes. She was good to me; she was a friend."
