Laid-in is a small (approximately 3.5 x 3.5 inch) original photograph of Cheever wearing his U. S. Army uniform and helmet. In black and white. Octavo. 256 pages. Publisher's full red cloth, front board and spine stamped in blue, dust jacket. Jacket spine toned, some rubbing, edgewear and a few chips and tears to jacket edges, cloth spine sunned, one soil mark on front board, minor rubbing to binding, some offsetting to endleaves, endleaves and text a bit toned. Light toning to photograph, inkstamp on verso of photo (with a pencil note: "Nov '42). Still, a near fine copy with a great photo of Cheever. From the collection of Donald Kaufmann.
