Description
John Brown, Rev. The Most Superb Folio and Self Interpreting Bible. Containing the Old & New Testaments with a paraphrase on the most obscure and important parts, explanatory notes, and evangelical reflections. Bungay, Suffolk: C. Brightly & T. Kinnersley, 1813. Dated 1813 on the engraved title page after W. M. Craig, but contains plates dated 1810-1814. Elephant folio. Unpaginated. New Testament with individual title page, imprint Bungay: Brightly & Childs; Kinnersley, 1813. Illustrated with engravings. Later gilt-stamped black leather. Minor edgewear. Large ink ownership to blank across from title page. Gilt edges chipped and worn, text block somewhat toned and foxed, plates foxed, intermittent dampstaining, amateur archival tape repairs throughout. Very good.This edition not in Hills, O'Callaghan, or Wright. From the A. D. Andrews Collection of Southern and Natural History
