    "John of Stobi compiled about A.D. 500. an anthology of excerpts from Greek writers, in four books, whose subjects were respectively, philosophy and physics, rhetoric and poetry, ethics, and politics. These were grouped in the Middle Ages under two titles 'Eklogia' and 'Anthologion.' This work which has survived, preserves many valuable fragments otherwise unknown to us." [OCCL]
