With Sixteenth-Century Woodcuts and Initials with Contemporary Hand-Coloring

Johan Geiler von Kaisersberg. Das Buch Granatapfel. Strasburg: Johan Knoblauch, 1511. First Strasburg edition. Quarto. Approximately 11.75 x 8 inches. With six woodcuts with contemporary hand-coloring, two or more of these after Baldung and with several hand-colored woodcut initials. Blank leaf G6 excised. Contemporary full brown calf over wooden board, boards elaborately paneled in blind, spine paneled in blind, brass clasp and portion of boss present (possibly contemporary), other clasp and boss lacking. Binding heavily worn, joints cracked, cords visible on spine, text toned and occasionally soiled, several pages with marginal loss or offsetting from tabs (now all missing), leaf A2 with tape repairs at bottom, last five leaves loose, library bookplate on front pastedown, ownership ink markings on front endleaves, embossed library stamp on title-page. Although this is a rough copy, it is an uncommon collection of Geiler's sermons, made even more rare with the contemporary hand-coloring. Adams G310.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
