Ludolph (1624-1704) learned orientalist, learned the basics of Ethiopic from Bochart. His interest in Abyssinia led him to try to form a political alliance between that remote country and the powers of Europe. He travelled to England in 1683 to promote his scheme. In the end the Abyssinians themselves defeated his purpose.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
