J.M. Barrie. The Admirable Crichton Signed by the Author. London: Hodder & Stoughton, [1914].
First edition. Quarto. 234 pages. With 20 delightful tipped-in color plates by Hugh Thomson, mounted on heavy stock and protected with printed tissue guards. Numerous ink sketches and vignettes in the text.

Dramatically bound in red buckram with extensive gilt design and lettering on cover and spine. Minor wear along board edges, a few bumped corners. Spine is slightly sunned with moderate wear to spine ends. Tight binding with bright, pristine pages, save for moderate foxing to first and last few leaves, flyleaves somewhat browned. Top-edge gilt; deckled fore-edge and bottom-edge. Signed in black ink by the author on the half title: "All best wishes, J.M Barrie, May 1928." An extremely attractive copy in fine condition.
