Boards very lightly rubbed, with a couple very faint blemishes; spine ends and corners lightly worn with some minor fraying to the crown. Small splash to the topstain; endpapers faintly discolored from binding glue; previous owner's rubber stamp to upper corner of front endpaper. Dust jacket edges worn with somewhat extensive tape repairs to verso; chipping to crown, bottom edge of the front flap fold and the top edge of the rear fold; folds lightly soiled. Very good in a bright dust jacket. Adapted for the screen in 1956 and directed by Anthony Mann with a cast lead by Mario Lanza, Joan Fontaine and Vincent Price.

Very gentle spine lean; board edges rubbed and soiled; corners bumped. Binder's glue just faintly discoloring the endpapers at the hinges; sporadic marginal soiling throughout text block. Jacket restored at edges and color corrected to spine, front flap starting to resplit at upper edge, other light edgewear and some minor soiling; few bumpy indentations to front panel. A very good copy in a presentable restored jacket. Source material for Joan Crawford's career defining role, directed by Michael Curtiz in 1945. Revisited in 2011 by Todd Haynes for HBO with Kate Winslet in the title role. The Dark Page 46.

Front board gently bowed; bottom corners very softly bumped; edges faintly darkened. Light discoloration to endpapers from binding glue. Dust jacket edges just a trifle rubbed; a couple minor wrinkles to base of spine; occasional insignificant soiling; verso browning. A sharp, near fine copy. Basis for Allan Dwan's 1956 technicolor noir, Slightly Scarlet.

Dust jacket spine panel faintly dulled; small just to bottom edge of front flap fold; tiny interior hole along rear flap fold; light soiling near folds; touch of wear to spine ends; verso faintly browned; price-clipped. Near fine. An excellent copy of Cain's three-story anthology featuring "Double Indemnity," the source for Billy Wilder's 1944 film noir high spot of the same name, starring Barbara Stanwyck, Fred MacMurrary and Edward G.
