    A Rare, Unauthorized Serialized Edition

James Joyce. Ulysses. Serialized in Two Worlds Monthly. Edited by Samuel Roth. New York: Two Worlds Monthly, 1926-1927. First edition of this rare piracy. Nine out of a total of twelve issues of this monthly magazine appearance of Ulysses. Lacking installments 7, 8, and 12 (February 1927, March 1927 and October 1927 issues, respectively). Nine quarto volumes. Original publisher's printed wrappers. Some toning and wear to wrappers, else a fine example of rare and fragile items. Housed in three cloth slipcases.
Two Worlds Monthly reprinted fourteen episodes of Ulysses in twelve serialized parts, entirely unauthorized by Joyce. This publication by Samuel Roth created a firestorm of criticism of Two Worlds Monthly, eventually leading to an indignant open letter signed by 167 artists and writers (which appeared in the April 1927 issue of transition magazine). Joyce eventually obtained an injunction against Samuel Roth nearly a year after Two Worlds Monthly ceased publication.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
