    More Information:

Jacobus Typotius [Typot] and Anselm de Boodt. Symbola Divina & Humana Pontificum Imperatorum Regum. Acessit brevis & facilis Isagoge. Frankfurt am Main and Pragae: Johann Gottfried Schonwetter, 1652 [second title-page dated 1602, third title-page dated 1603].

Mixed edition, fourth edition of part I, first editions of parts II and III. Three parts in one folio volume. Approximately 12.5 x 7.75 inches. A-L6, M8; ¹2, B-Q6, R2; *2, A-P6. 141, [6]; [4], 183; [6], 176, [3] pages. With three engraved title-pages, two added dedication plates, 150 full-page (erratically numbered) engraved plates most made up of six emblems [930 in toto] by Aegidius [Giles] Sadeler. Contemporary full mottled calf, title on label. Spine varnished, chipped spine lacks lower compartment, joints worn, hinges starting, some text browned, some foxing, wormholes in blank margins. Overall, a very good copy. From the Krown & Spellman Collection.

Typotius (1540-1601) a native of Diest in Beligium was official historiographer to the court of Rudolf II in Prague. The work first appeared in three volumes issued from 1601 to 1603. In volume three on the verso of the dedicatory page signed by Giles Sadeler is a letter about the deceased author. Anselm de Boodt's name appears on the third t.p. and was apparently the editor of the whole work as Typotius had died before it was completed. The first volume is devoted to national political emblems; the second eccclesaistical; and the last to royalty.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
