First Edition in a Restored Dust Jacket

Jack London. Burning Daylight. New York: The Macmillan Company, 1910.

First edition (variant issue not noted in BAL, with "Published October, 1910" on copyright page and with signed collation denoting a first printing per BAL, but with three blank leaves at rear which -- with unsigned collation -- generally denotes a second printing -- suggesting that this is a possible intermediate state first edition; also, with three-line publisher imprint at foot of spine of binding, but one-line imprint on jacket). Octavo. [viii], 361, blank, 3 pages of ads, blank, 8 page of ads, three blank leaves. Frontispiece and seven inserted plates.

Publisher's pictorial blue cloth stamped in yellow and white. Minimal rubbing to front board; lower corner of rear board lightly bumped. Stain affecting top margin of a few pages, with only one or two words of text affected. With the name "John Wilde" in ink on the first free endpaper. A beautiful copy in fine condition, in the rare dust jacket, here with darkened spine and considerable restoration, particularly to spine ends and folds.

A novel about love and adventure in the life of a Yukon gold prospector nick-named "Burning Daylight."

    BAL 11918.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
