In-text images, charts, figures. Original white paper wrappers, printed in black and blue, with blue panel on front. All edges trimmed. Vertical crease and some spot staining at spine; regular wear at edges, hinges; mild toning to front and rear wrappers; some minor surface scuffing; light bumping to corners; two small annotations to upper margin of front wrapper. Edges of text block slightly soiled and scratched; minimal toning to top edge. Interior clean, near fine in very good wrappers. "This book has its origins in a series of ten lectures which I have given for the past six years to introductory biology students at Harvard. In these lectures, I have not only attempted to convey the excitement of the recent discoveries of molecular genetics, but also to relate this new knowledge to the basic problem of biology--the nature of cells and how they divide"--Preface.
