    Ismail Kadare. Holograph Manuscript of the Poem "Poemë vjeshte" ("Autumn Poem."). [No place, dated at the close of the text, 1959 - 1964]. Early manuscript by Kadare, a major international literary and intelectual figure. Eleven quarto pages, plus one smaller leaf pinned to page 9; leaves written on rectos only. 8.25 x 11.75 inches (210 × 300 mm.). Paper a bit toned and soiled, with some creases and staining from paper clips, but generally in very good condition.

    The exiled Albanian poet and novelist has been compared to Gogol, Kafka, and Orwell, and was the recipient of the inaugural Man Booker International Prize for Literature in 2005, an award subsequently won by Chinua Achebe, Alice Munro, Philip Roth, Lydia Davis, and Lazslo Krasznahorkai. He has also been regarded as a possible future recipient of the Nobel Prize for Literature.
