Description

Inscribed by Isaac Asimov to Gnome Press Publisher Martin Greenberg

Isaac Asimov. I, Robot. New York: Gnome Press, Inc., [1950]. First edition of this science fiction classic. Presentation copy, inscribed by Asimov on the front free endpaper: "For:/Martin Greenberg/who actually got this/book out, by God/Love!/Isaac Asimov/12/2/50". Also inscribed by Greenberg on the front pastedown: "Gnome Press/File Copy/Martin Greenberg". Octavo. 253, [3, blank] pages. Publisher's full red cloth, front cover and spine stamped in black, dust jacket. Minor rubbing to jacket and binding extremities, minor soiling to rear jacket panel. A fine copy.

    More Information:

Not only is this a fantastic inscription because of the association (inscribed by legendary author and seminal science fiction publisher), but also because of its warmth and friendliness, which would eventually sour. Over the years, Asimov would have several disputes with Greenberg over payment, and would even call him a "crook". A superb item.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
